As a small wine producer with our own winery we are able to hand-craft our wines with unparalleled care and attention to detail. Our winery is small but well equipped and using the best of traditional methods combined with cutting-edge wine making knowledge we aim to produce wines of exceptional quality and individuality. Careful selection of only the best grapes together with gentle pressing and cool fermentation we take care to preserve the freshness and intensity of the delicate aromas and flavours at every stage of the wine making process. Our winemaker James Cumming graduated with distinction from Plumpton College, Europe’s leading centre for Wine Studies. He is also qualified to Advanced and Diploma level with the Wines and Spirits Education Trust.
Our signature still wines are made from the early ripening Ortega variety. This distinctive aromatic wine has been likened to the variety Albariño and is characterised by intense aromas of melon and pear with rich layers of apricot on the palate. Ortega is a difficult variety to grow in every respect but it is worth all the hard work as the wines are superb. Both of our 2015 wines won awards in the South West Vineyards Association competition, A Silver medal for the Barrel Fermented Ortega and a Bronze medal for the Classic Ortega.
Our Sparkling English wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir and with very gentle pressing we are able to minimise colour pick up to produce the palest of rosés. Our 2014 Sparkling Rosé vintage currently on sale and for the 2015 we made a Blanc de Noir released in 2018. All our riddling and disgorging is carefully carried out by hand here at the vineyard.
