Lyons Hill Farm is a family farm adopting old-fashioned values; we are completely passionate about producing the best meat possible. We focus exclusively on slow-maturing, Rare and Traditional British breeds; reared un-intensively in their natural environment, grazing old pastures. London chefs rave about our White Park beef, Iron Age pork and Portland hogget, which is now available via home delivery.
White Park are Britain’s most ancient breed of cattle; it’s beef is legendary. In 1617, King James I knighted his White Park loin steak, hence “Sir”loin. Iron Age pigs are a cross between a Wild Boar and Tamworth. The dominant wild genes means it is especially slow to mature, giving it extra time to lock in its outstanding flavour.
Our meat boxes comprise a broad variety of expertly butchered cuts so you can keep your palate amused, take comfort in eating more sustainably, and enjoy being dynamic in the kitchen during this period of isolation.
And don’t worry, we won’t be sending you a box of weird offal and bumpy bits… check out what is in our meat boxes below. Also worth considering, the nose-to-tail concept is the most economical way to buy premium quality meat. All cuts are packed ready for long storage in your freezer. If a whole box is too much meat for your freezer, perhaps share with a friend or neighbour!
The Lyons Hill Farm online shop is here. (They are regularly adding new stock so please don’t be disheartened if items are out of stock.)

Baboo Gelato was set up in 2015 by Annie Hanbury, a trained gelatiere, who wanted to combine her passion for making seriously good ice cream with the glut of fabulous ripe fruit on her doorstep. After years of living abroad, Annie and her family moved to the beautiful rolling hills behind the Dorset seaside town of Bridport and became the proud owners of a smallholding with an overflowing and abandoned market garden.
Annie decided she wanted to put the heart and soul back into ice cream making. She missed her children’s excitement and wonder as they chose from a gorgeous array of colourful and scrumptious flavours. Baboo Gelato wants to recapture this magic.
Try the many wonderful flavours – available at farm shops and offering home deliveries to DT6, DT7, and DT8, (The kiosks will open when allowed under government guidelines – please check before setting out.)

Ian and Sarah both grew up on farms and are delighted to now be running their own dairy goat farm. Ian grew up, worked and was a partner on his family’s dairy farm in Wales. During those years he became interested in dairy goat farming and arranged to do some work experience with the goat milking herd at the National Institute for Research in Dairying, Shinfield, Reading. The seed was sown but it wasn’t until he met his lovely, like-minded wife that the dream became a reality!
Wookey Farm goats milk is sold as cheese, bottled milk, yoghurt and cream. We also sell goat meat, lamb and pork from our outdoor reared animals.
Our produce is available online here.
Award winning pistachios sourced directly from a co-operative of artisan farmers who nurture and harvest the pistachios in their sun filled orchards in Greece. Hand picked, dry roasted with a touch of sea salt and hint of citrus. We offer a fabulous snacking moment for your very own pistachio occasion.
After a holiday in Greece snacking on the best pistachios we had ever tasted, we saw a gap in the UK market for a fresh, high quality pistachio nut that was grown sustainably and with provenance. With this in mind we made it our mission to find the best pistachio nut the world had to offer. Finding our perfect partners in the form of a co-operative of growers in Greece, we went about creating a brand and presence with standout simplicity, a trust in ingredients and ethical awareness. From day one it has always been our aim to work with the farmers closely and fairly, while providing people with a fabulous healthy shared snacking experience.
The best pistachio nuts are available online here.
On a mission to find the perfect pickle, Lucy came to realise that what she was looking for didn’t exist. So she set about making her own, and soon started experimenting with chutneys and jellies too. Putting a spin on some of her favourite family recipes and concocting her own.
Inspired by the food of her childhood, the bountiful orchard of her family home in North Wiltshire, and a serious love of artisan produce, The Pockeredge Pantry was born.
Harnessing the harvest of her garden and sourcing the finest seasonal British ingredients, all our products are handmade and suitable for vegans.

‘Growing up family occasions would always involve our Dad’s latest lovingly made beverage creation. He taught us all we know, some of our happiest memories come from the tales he created around his latest blend. We learned a lot from our Dad, keep it simple, never compromise on quality and be the best at what you do, but most importantly have fun.

We began our craft adventures in chocolate making in 2007 when we were looking for good bars of dark and dairy-free, vegan, white chocolate. Unable to find any – we decided to start experimenting. We already had a life long love affair with flavour in general, handicraft by nature and chocolate in particular, but got really passionate about chocolate when we found out about fine-flavoured artisan chocolate made from special cacao beans and heard the first reviews from our early repeat customers. The beans have depth and nuance that are not found in bulk chocolate. Just a few years into the dark chocolate revolution we let our passion flow to handcrafting milk, dark and unroasted chocolate for everyone to enjoy. Omni, vegan, lactose-intolerant, raw, free-from, gluten-free, diabetic, veggie… we think in chocolate we can all unite. Quality, taste, health, sustainability and compassion can co-exist!
As ethical chocolate makers – no people, planets or animals are exploited by Solkiki! We trade ethically by trailblazing Direct Trade that allows farmers to set their own prices. We never use any animal products and never will – and we work off-the-grid using renewable energy… (Now I ask you: Can you think of an excuse not to buy Solkiki chocolate? – ed)
You can buy their world famous chocolate – so many flavours – or join their chocolate subscription here.

It all came about when founder Stephen realised wine and beer no longer agreed with him. A keen maker of sloe liqueurs and other concoctions, he turned his attention to gin and started experimenting at home, mashing assorted fruits with different spirit strengths. He wasn’t intentionally creating a pink drink, it’s just that after working his way through an entire fruit bowl, raspberry delivered the best flavour. With the recipe developed, pals started encouraging him to go commercial…

Hi I’m Sally! I’m a born and bred West Country girl, loving life working in the hospitality & leisure industry for nearly 20yrs…until one day it became very clear that my heart wanted to be beside the sea and to enjoy the simple pleasures in life & all things fishy! It was only natural that a move to Dorset was on the cards and it is here in the beautiful, picturesque fishing village of Abbotsbury where me, my husband and our two gorgeous children ended up & we love it! Along the way I have met some wonderful, colourful characters, which little do they know, have helped mould me the way I am today and develop my passion for seafood & drinking wine!
There is always a story to tell and memories to be made; perhaps where you caught your first mackerel, watched a sunset, surfed the highest wave or even popped the question…wherever it is you set up your camp and make your memories, it would be wonderful to think that Sally’s Fish Camp had a part in sharing the good times!
Buy Shellfish – oysters, lobster, crab, mussels, mackerel pate and even pototo crisps and sour dough bread – online here.
PS… When ‘this’ is over Sally is going to give Screen Bites fans a treat – a demonstration and a fish supper! It will be wonderful to socialise and celebrate together again.
We have been perfecting the art of traditional cheese making for over forty years though the recipes and methods go back much further – over 600 years in fact. We believe it’s the dedication to these time-honoured traditions that make Ford Farm Cheddars some of the finest in the world.
Our cheeses – including goats cheese – are available to buy online here.
‘Our father made cheese, our grandfather made cheese, our great grandfather made cheese and our great great grandfather, yes, you guessed it… cheese. We were expected to make cheese. But we didn’t simply chuck this tradition into the bin. In fact, we just looked in the bin and saw how much milk was being wasted. That’s how the first pure milk vodka was born.
We were inspired by the greatest conqueror in history, Genghis Khan. There is something wrong about celebrating the despot’s despot. But we found something far more interesting than his blood thirsty conquests. He was the first person who posed the question “Can you make alcohol out of milk?” A great idea nobody thought of ever again… until now.
To the orthodox vodka makers, the vegans, our family and its 300 years of cheese making tradition, to the stockists that don’t know which shelf to put us on, and the government body that took 18 months to decide if a vodka made out of milk is actually a vodka… we’re terribly sorry.’Black Cow Milk Vodka (including one which is flavoured with English Strawberries!) can be bought online here.
PS… There is a lovely animated film by Cat Bruce telling the story of Black Cow Milk Vodka on their website – worth a watch! And lots of recipes!!
We are proud that all our wine is made here at Furleigh Estate from our own grapes. Unlike many of the larger English wineries we do not import grapes from “foreign places” like Sussex or East Anglia. Our Dorset wines are made from Dorset grapes.
Although most of our wines are sparkling we do also make still white, rosé and red wines. Our white wines are light and crisp, just right to have with the fish served at many local restaurants. Sea Pink, our very popular still rosé wine, is full of juicy wild strawberry flavours and perfect for barbecues and other summer drinking. Finally we also make a light red wine with a big heavy name – our Tyrannosaurus Red! We take time and care with this special red wine and it is not released until Christmas time each year. All our current still wines are silver medal winners.
Our sparkling wines are very special and have won many international gold medals and trophies. We use the classic Champagne grapes of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and the traditional bottle-fermented method to make our sparkling wine. The results are delightful, classic-style sparkling wines full of toasty aromas and peach and lime flavours.
Furleigh wines are available to buy online here.
Ancient Mesopotamia Gifts import and sell handmade soaps. They are made using the same ingredients – olive, laurel berry, almond and pistachio oils – and are made in the same areas of Ancient Mesopotamia where they have been made for centuries and from where they would have been traded along the Silk Road.
This is an incredible story, you can read about it on their website
The wonderful soaps have excellent health properties too.
They are available online here – treat yourself!

Wraxall Vineyard lies on a beautiful warm south-facing hill which is situated south of the Mendip Hills in Somerset. It is the perfect location for growing a variety of grapes that capture the very essence of English wine. Jacky Brayton and Brian Shirley have just celebrated 12 years at Wraxall Vineyard. We believe really good wines are produced from healthy fruit, so our wine making starts in the vineyard. The new varieties planted in 2008 produced award-winning white and rosé wine. In 2013, we released our first white and rosé sparkling wine which immediately won acclaim and international medals. Adding sparkling wine to our range has been both exciting and rewarding. In 2019, we made our first Pinot Noir red wine.
Our range of still and sparkling wines is available online.

The story of how South West Garlic Farm started is now the stuff of legend. Mark’s wife, Wendy, gave him three garlic cloves as a gift when his main business was livestock farming. 19 years later, and the farm is now growing 90,000 elephant garlic bulbs on 10 acres near Bridport. Prior to turning his hand to garlic, Mark was a livestock farmer with 600 head of sheep. “I’ve always been in farming, so there’s never been any money involved or the money to buy anything,” he jokes. Then Mark injured his back, and foot and mouth looked set to deliver the final blow. But Mark had plans for the 100 or so bulbs he’d been growing on the farm at that point. So a livestock farmer became Mark the Garlic. Almost two decades later, the animals he does keep on the farm are for providing fertiliser. “We’re trying to become bio dynamic,” he says, “so that everything has a job to do. The cattle are here to produce meat, but also to produce top quality manure. The whole process has now gone full circle.”
Elephant Garlic, Black Garlic and garlic products can be bought online here.
Andy and James had been hobby charcutiers for several years. Their daughters were best friends and it wasn’t long before they discovered that they shared passion for curing meats and making salami. Over a pint of cider at a local lawn-mower race (this is Somerset!), the idea for a quality British Charcuterie business was conceived. Both ran their own food businesses and they could see an opportunity to develop a range of products that followed traditional Spanish, French and Italian methods adapted to the British market and capitalised on the rich food culture of the South West.
Now in their fifth year the boys are going through up to a tonne of pork a week. Everything is handmade to preserve the artisan texture, flavours and look. “We are committed to producing the best product with the best of Somerset ingredients wherever we can. We are now regularly in several markets across Somerset and Bristol, at festivals around the country, in pubs, restaurants and delis. It has been a fantastic success story so far and we are very lucky to have a loyal fan base to whom we are very grateful. We are looking forward to developing new and exciting products, meeting like-minded meat lovers and expanding our business further afield.”
You can buy their produce online here. Everything is gluten free too!

David and Sally opened Manna Kitchen in 2004 after relocating their family from London to Dorset. The initial business focused on the production of their award winning frozen ready meals and desserts. The emphasis was on making great tasting dishes in small batches using quality local ingredients without the added sugar or excessive amounts of salt often found in the mass produced factory-made versions.
Manna kitchen today is still all about simple food, quality ingredients and fantastic flavours. This good food philosophy has taken the business into lots of different catering avenues from cafes, to event & corporate catering, to contract catering and festival catering alongside the original ready-meal production. They are also making their delicious dishes (savoury and desserts, including care packages and veggie options) for you to eat at home…

A late April morning in a cider apple orchard amidst the softly rolling hills on the Dorset-Somerset border; an unexpected frost had covered much of the ground with a delicate sparkling layer, silvery-white, petering out in the shadows of the briars and hedgerows. This is where Marshwood Vale Cider begins; where the apple trees burst into bud in early spring, followed by the sweetest pink-white blossom, visited by passing bees awakened from their winter slumber as temperatures slowly start to rise. Where the fruit hangs on the bough all summer long; through bright humid days and hazy evenings, ripened to perfection and mellowed by the early autumn sun. No wonder it tastes so good, of nectar and fresh country air, recalling happy memories of blazing hot days spent wandering the shady copses and yellowing fields; just one sip and it’s there on the tip of your tongue, alive in your mind. Marshwood Vale Cider; sunshine in a glass.

Distinct in flavour from its neighbouring countries, Sri Lankan curry predominantly uses coconut milk as its base and is one of the most complex cuisines of South Asia.
Hari Hari spices bring these authentic Sri Lankan flavours to your table.
Our unique spice packs are hand crafted in the UK using pure Sri Lankan spices masterfully blended using secret recipes. Unlike your usual Friday night curry, our spice mixes will wow your taste buds and open a door to a whole new world of flavour.
Traditionally, a Sri Lankan curry consists of rice served with a main curry of chicken, beef, pork or fish along with typically 2-4 other vegetable curries, dhal and even fruit curries. Our family have been farming here in East Coker since 1923 and the farm still has four generations living on it today. We are a family business in the heart of our community and we’ve been practising sustainable, socially conscious farming long before it became fashionable. We are a diversified, grass-based, direct marketing, zero chemical fertiliser & pesticide, family run farm. Everything we produce is sold straight to the consumer through our farm shop or to a handful of very local pubs, restaurants & butchers.
We aim to farm in a way that promotes the environment around us, produces tastier and healthier food and re-connects the consumer with the farmer. This means that we don’t do things conventionally. We do not use chemical fertiliser or pesticides nor do we routinely medicate our livestock. We farm Cattle, pigs, sheep and free range chickens and ducks for eggs as well as free range geese. All of our animals are hand reared and fed a healthy, natural grass based diet free from growth promoters or routine medication.
A wide variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables, breads, snacks, preserves and other delicious goodies are available online here.

As a small wine producer with our own winery we are able to hand-craft our wines with unparalleled care and attention to detail. Our winery is small but well equipped and using the best of traditional methods combined with cutting-edge wine making knowledge we aim to produce wines of exceptional quality and individuality. Careful selection of only the best grapes together with gentle pressing and cool fermentation we take care to preserve the freshness and intensity of the delicate aromas and flavours at every stage of the wine making process. Our winemaker James Cumming graduated with distinction from Plumpton College, Europe’s leading centre for Wine Studies. He is also qualified to Advanced and Diploma level with the Wines and Spirits Education Trust.
Our signature still wines are made from the early ripening Ortega variety. This distinctive aromatic wine has been likened to the variety Albariño and is characterised by intense aromas of melon and pear with rich layers of apricot on the palate. Ortega is a difficult variety to grow in every respect but it is worth all the hard work as the wines are superb. Both of our 2015 wines won awards in the South West Vineyards Association competition, A Silver medal for the Barrel Fermented Ortega and a Bronze medal for the Classic Ortega.
Our Sparkling English wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir and with very gentle pressing we are able to minimise colour pick up to produce the palest of rosés. Our 2014 Sparkling Rosé vintage currently on sale and for the 2015 we made a Blanc de Noir released in 2018. All our riddling and disgorging is carefully carried out by hand here at the vineyard.
Our still and sparkling wines, and ciders are available to buy online here.
Founded in 2017, the Dorset Sea Salt Company is helmed by Jethro, an obsessed sea salt fanatic. After reading about the historic and cultural relevance of salt production in Dorset, and visiting the natural salt pans on the East Weares of Portland, Jethro pondered how and why this local industry had vanished. This idea affected him so immensely that he began to conceptualise, and envisage the revival of Dorset’s local Sea Salt scene.
We believe we produce something extra special here at the Dorset Sea Salt Company. Like you, we care about where our food comes from. We hand-harvest our sea salt from Britain’s purest waters along the Jurassic coastline. This renders our sea salt the cleanest, purest, and freshest sea salt on the market, offering a distinct taste of Dorset.

The Dorset Ginger Company is a family run business established in 1985 and operates from Lytchett Matravers, just outside of Poole in Dorset. We produce award winning non alcoholic, non carbonated, hand blended ginger drinks and Sicilian lemonade. We gently pasteurise our bottles which gives them a long shelf life and eliminates the need for adding potassium sorbate.
Ginger has long been known to have amazing health benefits. Read about them here.
Our ginger drinks can be enjoyed on their own, used as mixers or they can be even used for cooking and baking! Buy online here.
When it comes to cider making our philosophy is simple. We press a blend of the best cider apple varieties when they’re perfectly ripe and let the juice ferment slowly over the following winter months. But that’s not the end of the story. The tannins in our cider apples take time to mellow and develop the rich, complex flavours we are looking for. And so we allow our ciders several more months to mature before we release it. As with all the best things in life, a good cider is worth the wait.
We grow all the apples we need for our ciders and juices in our orchard in Donhead St Mary. With an increasing trend for cider makers to use apple concentrate we think it’s important to maintain the West Country tradition of growing and using traditional high tannin cider apples.
So if you find yourself in Donhead St Mary, why not take a walk through the orchard and don’t forget to say hi because we never tire of talking about apple trees and cider.

In 2013, Harry met Eleni, fell in love and moved to Zakros. At the same time, Will was at design school becoming increasingly frustrated at the disregard for the environment… not long after, Zakros became our home and we discovered a community producing some of the worlds finest olive oil.
A village with a different rhythm of life. We saw a beautiful craft that has been passed down generations come under pressure. Strained by a yield at all costs approach with chemical farming pushed as the solution.
We believe there is another way. A regenerative way that gives back. One focused on producing small batches of delicious olive oil in harmony with nature. With no farming background but a deep desire to learn from the land and guided by the patient hand of a honed farmer, we became unlikely apprentices…
Batch Two is now available here.
